Game Day Beer Review: Pennsylvania Brewing Summer Berry Weisse Beer
Although temps are just beginning to turn a bit cooler -- at least in some parts of the US -- summer is not officially over in our book until the last warm weather brew has been cleaned out of the refrigerator. With that goal in mind, we did a little bit of Fall cleaning the other day and turned up this review:
(5.00% ABV) Penn Summer Berry Weisse was poured out of the bottle at home. The beer was a dark orangish-gold color with an almost purple tinge to it. The thin white head associated with the pour quickly dissipated.
The beer's scent was perfumed berries. Tart and sweet is an adequate description.
The mouthfeel was thin and tingly, and there were some definite raspberries on the taste. It's got a wheat body and a berry finish -- cool and refreshing. B
